HIT Training 101

The simplicity of High Intensity Training to enhance your health and fitness goals

    High Intensity Training is the simplicity of exercise science to assist in facilitating your absolute best health and fitness goals.  H.I.T. 101 was designed to give the principles of high intensity training to the beginner weight lifter, those seeking weight loss, the advanced athlete, the power lifter or bodybuilder.  This program fully co-operates with the body's biological principles and is in opposition to much of the popular advice of the mainstream fitness industry.  The principles used in this program were discovered through gym-tested experimentation and not invented to produce the latest fad.   
    My name is Bryan Belting and I began working-out at the ripe age of 17 and easily put on approximately 30 pounds, going from a rail thin 160 pounds on a six-foot tall frame to 190 pounds.  I was heavily involved in the bodybuilding lifestyle (approximately twenty years ago) and continued to try every workout program under the sun to continue packing on the pounds but nothing worked.  I had not merely hit a plateau (the popularized explanation of weight lifting stagnation) but would later come to realize that I was excessively overtrained. 
    It wasn’t until a friend of mine suggested that I read a book by Mike Mentzer in which he explained in detail his Heavy Duty philosophy.  It was at this point that I surmised that my initial gains were the result of the body’s threat/response relationship in the beginner’s stages.  After this, I was entering into uncharted territory and used Mentzer’s philosophy to navigate the troublesome waters of weight lifting.  I saw gains in a way that I had never seen before.  A snapshot of some of my best lifts include: a close-grip bench press of 295 lbs. for a single rep, 65 lb. dumbbell curls for seven (without bodily momentum) and 110 lb. dumbbells on the incline bench press for seven repetitions.     
    These days, you might find me at the gym, reading a book or breaking my neck via jiu-jitsu.  Although my bodybuilding days are far behind me, I am thoroughly content in the role as a personal trainer for those who may need assistance with their overall fitness, strength training or weight loss goals.  You may desire a reduction in body weight, an improvement in fitness or need to climb to the next level in your athletic endeavors.  Whatever the reason, I can help.
